Civil.GG Tournament Rules & Terms

By registering for or participating in any Civil.GG tournament, you agree to the following rules and conditions.

1. Eligibility

  • Tournaments are open to:
    • Civil.GG members (free entry)
    • Non-members ($20 entry fee)
  • Participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
  • No geographic restrictions apply.
  • Civil.GG reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time.

2. Games & Platforms

  • Supported games include Madden NFL and EA College Football, across any available year.
  • Cross-play is permitted where supported by the game.
  • Each tournament will explicitly define:
    • The game title and year
    • The game mode
    • Any custom settings or restrictions

3. Tournament Format

  • Each tournament will define its own:
    • Bracket structure
    • Seeding methodology
    • Advancement rules
  • Unless otherwise stated:
    • Matches are Best of 1
  • Brackets and match rules are final once the tournament begins.

4. Disconnects & Match Interruptions

  • In the event of a disconnect, players must recreate the score, quarter, time remaining, and game situation as accurately as possible.
  • Failure to cooperate in recreating the game state may result in forfeiture.
  • Tournament administrators may make final determinations in disputed scenarios.

5. Entry Fees & Refunds

  • Civil.GG members may enter tournaments at no cost.
  • Non-members may enter by paying a $20 participation fee.
  • All tournament entry fees are non-refundable, including but not limited to:
    • Player no-shows
    • Disqualifications
    • Match forfeits
  • Entry fees are participation fees and do not constitute wagering.

6. Prizes & Payouts

  • Each tournament will define its own prize structure and payout amounts.
  • Prizes are guaranteed by Civil.GG, regardless of participation count.
  • Payouts will be issued via:
    • Direct Deposit (ACH) or
    • PayPal
  • Payouts are processed on the second business day of the following month.
  • Winners are required to submit all requested tax documentation prior to payout.
  • Cash prizes may be reported for tax purposes in accordance with U.S. law.

7. Gameplay Rules & Fair Play

  • All participants must follow the Civil.GG Gameplay Rules, including restrictions on exploits, glitches, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
  • Use of cheats, third-party tools, or intentional abuse of game mechanics may result in:
    • Immediate disqualification
    • Forfeiture of prizes
    • Removal from future Civil.GG events

8. Conduct

Participants are expected to:

  • Compete respectfully
  • Follow admin instructions
  • Avoid harassment, griefing, or unsportsmanlike behavior

Civil.GG reserves the right to remove any participant for behavior deemed detrimental to the competition or community.

9. Administration & Disputes

  • Civil.GG’s decisions are final in all tournament-related matters.
  • Civil.GG may:
    • Modify tournament rules
    • Resolve disputes at its discretion
    • Remove players at any time when deemed necessary

10. Limitation of Liability

Civil.GG is not responsible for:

  • Platform outages
  • Connectivity issues
  • Game bugs or crashes
  • Player hardware or network failures

Participation is at your own risk.

11. Acceptance of Rules

By checking the acceptance box and entering a Civil.GG tournament, you acknowledge that you:

  • Have read and understood these rules
  • Agree to be bound by them
  • Accept Civil.GG’s authority in administering tournaments
