Sometimes I just contain without the pinch. That gets your contains a better angle. A lot of people overlook this.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Why most contains don't work:\u003C\u002Fstrong> people leave the wrong guy as the contain. Say a defender named Climbs is your contain. He looks big, so he's probably not fast, and he's lined up inside the tackle. There's no world where he contains. Then people say \"the game stinks.\" No. That's just the wrong guy.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>How to actually do it:\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Col>\n\u003Cli>Hit \u003Cstrong>Right Bumper\u003C\u002Fstrong>, then \u003Cstrong>Left Bumper\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Get leverage. To be clear, the game CAN bug out. There are ways on offense to negate contains. But most of the time they work great.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Really need edge help?\u003C\u002Fstrong> Move somebody out, blitz them, and put them on a contain. Then do whatever with everybody else. They'll do a good job. I don't love doing something that extreme, but it's there.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch2>How Do You Defend Drag Routes And Underneath Stuff?\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\u003Cp>Core tenant. You don't need to be good at the game to hit a drag route. Defending underneath isn't just halfback flats. It's drags too.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>The setup:\u003C\u002Fstrong> curl flats at 5 yards take care of flats left and right. Those are bagged. But drags can still get open. Fix it at the start of games, or set your hooks to 5-yard drops.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Two ways to defend underneath:\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Col>\n\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Use the user.\u003C\u002Fstrong> Always the first solution. Start down, work up. Your user defends the drag. Easiest thing you can do.\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Hold LT + Down on the Right Stick.\u003C\u002Fstrong> Makes ALL your underneath zones ultra-aggressive. Playing very low. If we lose, we lose, that's fine\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>The problem: \u003Cstrong>the seam opposite of where your middle third is rolling from is open\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003C\u002Ful>\n\u003Cp>The middle third defender comes from the left, so he handles the left seam. The right seam is a big play waiting to happen. Run streaks to both seams and you'll see it. Left seam, well defended.
