You can go from getting stopped every drive to throwing dots every drive just by having better pocket.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>What's bad pocket?\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>A lot of people tell you good pocket just means stepping up. That's somewhat true. Stepping up is good. But it's NOT always good.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cul>\n\u003Cli>If someone gets a free rusher up the A gap, you don't want to step up into that\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>If your center gets bull rushed backwards, you don't want to step up into that either\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003C\u002Ful>\n\n\u003Ch3>So what IS good pocket?\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>Good pocket is using the left stick to look downfield and buy as much time as possible. If you're just staring at the pocket - that's bad. You want to look downfield while navigating with the left stick.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>What that looks like:\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cul>\n\u003Cli>Sometimes it means stepping up. If you see a clean lane, step up and execute. That's the best thing you can do\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Sometimes it means drifting left or right, if you feel pressure up the middle or off the right, drift away from it\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Sometimes it means rolling out, roll back, create space, then throw\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003C\u002Ful>\n\n\u003Cp>You'll NEVER have perfect pocket every play. Your goal is just to buy more time.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>One big mistake. Walking backwards\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>The further you back up, the worse your throws get. If your QB is underthrowing balls, especially deep, a big reason is you're walking backwards.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cul>\n\u003Cli>Don't just hold the left stick back\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Back up if you need to, but stop at some point\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Then roll out and throw, or do whatever you need after that\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003C\u002Ful>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>The key point:\u003C\u002Fstrong> It's not just stepping up. It's not just walking forward. It's navigating the pocket based on the pressure being sent at you.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch2>How do you use your HB in the passing game in College Football 27?\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\u003Cp>Your halfback is one of the most versatile players on the field. Especially in a great passing offense that throws up and down the field. This doesn't mean you spam throws to him (though you can if they leave him wide open). It means you recognize he's one of your best players.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Here's what your HB can do:\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cul>\n\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Block the best blitzes in the game\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Beat man coverage easy\u003C\u002Fstrong>. Usually your best player to do so\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Run stock routes\u003C\u002Fstrong> other players can't get\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Playmaker him\u003C\u002Fstrong> to attack the defense\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003C\u002Ful>\n\n\u003Ch3>The routes\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>HB Speed In \u002F Speed Out\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cul>\n\u003Cli>Found in every playbook in the game\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Incredibly good\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>Note: they nerfed him a little this year. That opens someone up over the top.
