What Is the Show Blitz Glitch

The Show Blitz Glitch is a massive bug in College Football 26 that can give up free touchdowns if you don't know about it.

Here's what happens. You show blitz ONLY your linebackers using RB/R1. Looks great. Front looks nasty. But then you make ONE more adjustment after that, like blitzing one of those linebackers, and BOOM. Your safeties randomly drop down and show blitz too.

This is terrible because those safeties are supposed to be in deep zones. When they come down, you're leaving the entire deep field wide open. Any streak route = automatic touchdown.

The feature itself is awesome. EA finally let us show blitz ONLY linebackers instead of the whole defense. But they screwed up the coding. Make any individual adjustment after linebacker show blitz and the game thinks you want global show blitz.

Bottom line: Show blitz your linebackers, then leave it alone. Don't touch anything else or you're asking for a one-play TD.

How Show Blitz Is Supposed to Work

College Football 26 has two different show blitz options:

Global Show Blitz: Y/Triangle + RB/R1

• Safeties show blitz
• Linebackers show blitz
• Entire defense looks aggressive

Linebacker Show Blitz Only: RB/R1

• Only linebackers show blitz
• Safeties stay back in coverage
• Perfect for disguising pressure

The linebacker-only option is MONEY. You get the pre-snap intimidation factor without sacrificing your deep coverage. Your linebackers creep up to the line, QB thinks blitz is coming, but your safeties are still there to cover any deep routes.

This gives you flexibility. Show pressure but still have the option to drop into coverage. Or actually bring the heat if you want.

When the Glitch Happens

The glitch triggers when you make individual adjustments AFTER using linebacker show blitz.

Here's the sequence that breaks everything:

1. Right on D-pad to select linebacker
2. RB/R1 to show blitz linebackers
3. Make ANY other individual adjustment. Like actually blitzing one of them
4. Watch your safeties randomly drop down

Example scenario: You're running 335 Three High Odd with Three Double Cloud High Low Dig coverage. You show blitz the linebackers. Front looks nasty. But then you decide to actually send one linebacker on a blitz. Soon as you make that adjustment, your safeties abandon their deep zones and come down to show blitz.

Now you've got nobody covering the deep field. Any four verticals concept, any streak route, any deep comeback. You're cooked.

Why This Glitch Is So Dangerous

This isn't just annoying. It's touchdown-dangerous.

Deep zones get abandoned. When your safeties drop down unexpectedly, the deep field is WIDE open. In college football, that's death. Offenses live on explosive plays.

You don't realize it's happening. Pre-snap, everything looks normal. You think your safeties are still back there. Post-snap, you see receivers running free and have no idea why.

It happens with good defenses. The formations where you want to show blitz linebackers, like 335 Three High Odd, are typically your better coverage looks. When this glitch hits, it turns a good defensive call into a disaster.

How to Avoid the Show Blitz Glitch

Simple fix, don't make individual adjustments after linebacker show blitz.

The safe sequence:

2. RB/R1 to show blitz linebackers
3. STOP, don't touch anything else

That's it. Let the linebacker show blitz do its job without trying to get fancy.

What you CAN still do:

• Show blitz the linebackers
• Let them drop into coverage
• Let them rush if the play calls for it
• Make coverage adjustments to OTHER players

What you CANNOT do:

• Manually blitz those linebackers after show blitz
• Change their individual coverage assignments
• Make any other individual adjustments to them

When Linebacker Show Blitz Is Most Useful

Even with this glitch, linebacker show blitz is still a great tool when used correctly.

Best situations:

• Third and medium, Show pressure but keep deep coverage intact
• Red zone, Compressed field means less risk if something goes wrong
• Two-minute drill defense, Disguise your intentions pre-snap
• Goal line, Short field limits the damage from any glitch

Formations where it works best:

• 335 Three High Odd
• Nickel formations with extra linebackers
• 4-3 Over with strong linebacker presence

Common Mistakes That Trigger the Glitch

You think you're being smart by disguising which linebacker comes. Game thinks you want global show blitz.
