Cookie Policy

This policy lists the cookies and similar tools (browser storage, pixels and scripts) that Civil Productions LLC ("Civil.GG," "we") uses on civil.gg, our checkout and the members area. For each one, it says what it's for and how long it lasts. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use the information they collect.

Your choices

• Opt out of ad sharing on Your Privacy Choices, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. Either one stops our advertising tags from loading in that browser.
• Visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland get only the essential tools below, plus basic analytics that doesn't use cookies. No advertising tags and no session replay. Embedded videos may still set their own cookies.
• Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies. If you block essential cookies, checkout and login won't work.

Essential

Needed for the site, checkout and login to work. They're always on.

• Foxy.io (fcsid cookie; session and fx.customer.* browser storage): your cart, checkout and login session. The cookie lasts 30 days; the login storage lasts until you log out.
• Stripe (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid): fraud prevention for payments. __stripe_mid lasts 1 year; __stripe_sid lasts 30 minutes.
• Civil.GG privacy settings: cgg_region (whether you're visiting from the EU, UK or Switzerland; 30 days) and cgg_optout (your ad-sharing opt-out; 400 days).
• Civil.GG page tests (ab_<test name>): keeps you on the same version of a page during a test. 30 days.
• Civil.GG one-click upgrade (foxy_auto_submit): completes an upgrade you started in the members area. 5 minutes.
• Members area storage: your preferences, dismissed messages and recent searches, kept in your browser until you clear them.
• Cloudflare: may set security cookies (like __cf_bm) to block bots. 30 minutes.

Analytics

Help us understand how the Service is used and fix problems. Not used for advertising.

• PostHog (ph_<project>_posthog cookie and browser storage, on all civil.gg sites): a random ID that counts visits and connects your activity across the site, checkout and members area. Also used for session replay. 1 year. In the EU, UK and Switzerland, PostHog keeps nothing in your browser and doesn't record replays.
• Civil.GG origin (civil_origin): the page and campaign that first brought you to civil.gg, saved with your order when you buy. 1 year. Not set in the EU, UK or Switzerland.
• Sentry (members area): error reports when something breaks. No cookies.

Advertising

Let us show our ads to people who've visited civil.gg and measure which ads work. Google's tag loads on our website and checkout (so it can also count completed purchases); the Meta pixel (when we run Facebook or Instagram ads) loads only on our marketing pages. They never load in the members area. They don't load at all if you're in the EU, UK or Switzerland, if you've opted out, or if your browser sends Global Privacy Control.

• Google Ads (_gcl_au and similar on civil.gg; Google's own cookies on google.com and doubleclick.net): lets us show Google and YouTube ads to past visitors and see which ads lead to sign-ups. _gcl_au lasts 90 days; Google's cookies follow Google's policy.
• Meta pixel (_fbp, _fbc): lets us show Facebook and Instagram ads to past visitors and see which ads lead to sign-ups. 90 days; Meta's own cookies follow Meta's policy.

Embedded content

Videos and tools from other companies may set their own cookies when they load, under their own policies:

• Bunny (our lesson videos), YouTube, Vimeo, Streamable (through Embedly), Vidalytics (vidalytics_uid, one sales-page video) and Loom (coach feedback videos).
• Google Fonts, jsDelivr and Finsweet deliver fonts and page components. They see your IP address but don't set cookies.

Tools we no longer use

We removed Google Analytics, our Google Tag Manager container, Microsoft Clarity and HYROS in September 2026. If your browser still has their cookies from an earlier visit (for example _ga, _gid, _clck or _clsk), we don't use them, and they'll expire on their own. You can also delete them in your browser settings.
